Advisors' Opinion:- [By Lu Wang]
Mining stocks are bargains after declines in the past two years, said Hodges, who recently bought shares of Freeport-McMoRan (FCX) and U.S. Steel Corp. The selloff since the start of 2011 has erased almost half of the market value from a gauge of seven S&P 500 metal producers, data compiled by Bloomberg show. The price-earnings ratio for Phoenix-based Freeport, the world largest publicly traded copper producer, has dropped 24 percent since the beginning of 2010 to 11.5.

In the video below, Fool.com contributor Doug Ehrman discusses recent activity by the Chinese central bank and how to craft an investment strategy around its moves. Companies like Alcoa (NYSE: AA ) and Freeport-McMoRan (NYSE: FCX ) could be negatively affected, but gold and the SPDR Gold Trust (NYSEMKT: GLD ) , as well as gold miners including Barrick (NYSE: ABX ) and Goldcorp (NYSE: GG ) could benefit. Crafting an investment strategy on the news will require careful attention to what comes next for monetary policy in China.

Advisors' Opinion:- [By Rick Munarriz]
I went out on a limb last week, and now it's time to see how that decision played out.
I predicted that People's United Financial (NASDAQ: PBCT ) would close higher on the week. The regional banker had come up short on the bottom line in its two previous quarters, and the prior week closed with uninspiring earnings news out of the banking behemoths. People's United managed to match expectations on an operating basis, but the market was skeptical of financial services institutions this week. People's United Financial shares closed lower on the week. I was right. I predicted that the tech-heavy Nasdaq would outperform the Dow Jones Industrial Average. (DJINDICES: ^DJI ) . This has been a tricky call lately, so how did it play out this time? Well, the market was rocked hard this week, and secondary stocks led the way down. The Nasdaq fell 2.7% on the week. The Dow managed to close just 2.1% lower. I was wrong. My final call was for United Rentals (NYSE: URI ) to beat Wall Street's quarterly profit target. The provider of equipment rentals with 836 outlets across the country has been beating Wall Street estimates consistently over the past year. Why should that end? Analysts were looking for a profit of $0.47 a share during the quarter, and it came through with adjusted net income of $0.58. I was right. Two out of three? I can do better than that.

Top Dividend Companies To Watch In Right Now: Avon Products Inc. (AVP)
Avon Products Inc. manufactures and markets beauty and related products worldwide. Its product categories include color cosmetics, fragrances, skin care, and personal care; fashion jewelry, watches, apparel, footwear, and accessories; and gift and decorative products, housewares, entertainment and leisure, and children?s and nutritional products. Avon Products Inc. markets its products through direct selling and independent representatives, as well as through distributorships. The company was founded in 1886 and is based in New York, New York.
Advisors' Opinion:- [By Sean Williams]
Finally, beauty products maker Avon Products (NYSE: AVP ) gained 4.1% after also reporting its first-quarter results. Total revenue dipped 4% for the quarter, but was hurt primarily by unfavorable currency translation. Volume dropped 3%, but was countered by a 3% jump in prices. The Street might appear pleased with Avon's stabilizing business, but I continue to see its volume declines and high representative turnover as discouraging. Price hikes seem to be the only way Avon can stabilize its domestic and overseas business, and that's a recipe that I'm fairly certain will lead to lost customers.

Big Earnings Movers: Starbucks Corp. (NASDAQ: SBUX) is up 0.3% at $81.06 on good earnings. Facebook Inc. (NASDAQ: FB) is up 2.6% at $50.26 on another good report. Exxon Mobil Corp. (NYSE: XOM) is up 1% at $89.70. Avon Products Inc. (NYSE: AVP) is down 21.6% at $17.56 after a very poor showing.

Of course, I’d also like to alert you to these big blue chips that have fallen in the eyes of the analyst community before they disappoint with their earnings reports.
Avon Products (AVP): In the past three months, analysts have slashed their estimates by 19%. Avon Products is expected to see sales fall 8.1% and earnings plunge 18.9%. AVP is a sell. Coach (COH): In the past three months, analysts have reduced their estimates by 11%. Coach is now headed towards a 1.1% drop in sales and an 8.9% drop in earnings. COH is a sell. Hess (HES): In the past three months, analysts have slashed their estimates by 19%. Hess is due to post a 75% year-on-year drop in sales and just 7.5% annual earnings growth. HES is a hold. H&R Block (HRB): In the past two months, analysts have slashed their estimates from a profit of 1 cent per share to a loss of 8 cents per share. HRB is a hold. Target (TGT): In the past two months, analysts have cut their estimates by 15%. Target is now expected to see sales retreat 2.8% over last year and earnings fall nearly 16%. TGT is a sell. Now a lot can happen in the weeks between now and these earnings announcements, so there is a chance that some of these will firm up before then. However, in the meantime I see no reason to hold stocks that are underperforming their peers, especially when so many premium stocks are still on sale.

Advisors' Opinion:- [By Stoyan Bojinov]
The Santa Clara-based semiconductor juggernaut Intel Corp. (INTC) revealed a slew of new products at this year’s Intel Developer Forum in San Francisco.
Intel unveiled a host of consumer electronics products that it hopes will catch on with the mobile revolution. One of the most exciting announcements was the first fanless ultrabook laptop, and the company plans to team up with tablet makers to gain a foothold in that market; by the upcoming U.S. holiday season, there should be more than 20 Android and Windows 8 tablets based on Intel’s new “Bay Trail” CPU. The company also plans to release a 20nm SoC chip for smartphones as well as number of “wearable” electronics including a watch as well as a bracelet based on Intel hardware.
Intel shares sank lower on Wednesday, shedding 0.76% on the day. The company is up nearly 11% YTD.

Intel (NASDAQ: INTC ) believes security is a major concern as well. "Security needs to be built in as the foundation of the Internet of Things. Any disruption to these IP connected devices can cause damage to the business and our daily lives," Intel's worldwide chief technology officer for security, Michael Fey, said earlier this year.

There is no doubt at this point that sales of Microsoft's Surface RT and Pro tablets have been underwhelming. But I would also say that the Surface Pro is a PC. Anything running a 17W Intel (INTC) Core i5 is a PC, folks -- just because it has a touchscreen and a detachable keyboard doesn't not make it a PC. Frankly, I wasn't at all tempted by the first generation Windows 8 hardware simply from a technology perspective. Most of the criticisms leveled at Windows 8 have been heard with every major release of Windows, including the introduction of the "start button" in Windows 95. Color me unimpressed by it.

BOSTON -- Cybersecurity company FireEye has acquired Mandiant, the computer forensics specialist best known for unveiling a secretive Chinese military unit believed to be behind a series of hacking attacks on U.S. companies. FirEye (FEYE) shares jumped more than 20 percent after Thursday's announcement of the $1.05 billion cash-and-stock deal, which FireEye said closed Monday. It unites two companies with relatively new technologies for thwarting cyber attacks, and brings together two of the most-respected executives in the security industry: FireEye CEO Dave DeWalt and Mandiant founder Kevin Mandia. While sales of older anti-virus products have been on the decline, security experts expect strong growth in both FireEye's cloud-based systems for detecting malicious software and Mandiant's software that analyzes cyber attacks. About a year ago the two companies entered into a technology development agreement that made it easier to deploy their products together. With the merger, FireEye will gain Mandiant's team of forensics investigators. "They have these very strong Navy 'cyber' Seals who respond to breaches and are very good at what they do," DeWalt said about Mandiant. He had previously served as chairman of Mandiant's board. "My aim is to create the strongest security company in the world," DeWalt said in an interview. FireEye, which has yet to post a profit, said the acquisition will be immediately accretive to earnings and expects the combined company's revenue to grow about 50 percent this year. In comparison, Symantec (SYMC), the biggest maker of anti-virus software, has said it expects fiscal 2014 revenue to drop 3 percent to 4 percent. Mandiant is best known for its forensics services. The company rose to prominence in February 2013 when it pu
